Jaunpur Range Eco Restoration and Research Project aims to deeply engage with the landscape and villages in the Jaunpur Range, situated in the Tehri tehsil of Garhwal Himalayas.
The following are the goals being pursued.
- Enhance tree cover in the area based on a slow and steady process
- Enable responsible waste management to prevent the practice of throwing waste over hill sides.
- Enable revival of farming where possible
- Control the spread of lantana weed infestation.
- Create livelihood options for local villagers.
- Organise learning experiences for urban communities
